Town Players is a not-for-profit theater group located in Newtown, Connecticut. While there are other theater organizations within Newtown, Town Players is unique in that it has been in continuous operation since 1935 and depends solely upon volunteers who give their time and talent to put on quality entertainment at a reasonable price.
The space is the envy of many theatres for its intimacy. Closeness gives playgoers the chance to feel the electricity of a live performance, and it’s a space in which actors love to perform. Scant paces from the footlights to the back wall, this is a stage where no gesture is lost. For more about the theater and its history, click here.
In addition, Town Players strives to provide a place for people to learn, grow, and contribute to the arts in a positive environment. It’s a place for theater veterans and novices alike to come together and share both their passions and their talents. For more information about how you can become involved, click here.
